Violations of federal or state confidentiality laws that govern the records of healthcare recipients are extremely serious and can lead to the loss of certifications, credentials and/or licenses to operate. This training will cover the appropriate processes for collecting, storing, releasing and destroying protected information in order to protect the individual to whom the information belongs, the individual responsible for the safe keeping of that information and the organization from which the information is being obtained.
This 6-hour training will cover organizational standards for managing confidentiality of records; including established standards for obtaining and releasing them. Emphasis will be placed on existing New York State laws and how they intersect with federal laws.
Upon completion of this training, participants will receive 6 CEUs
