Recent changes in healthcare policy have presented a number of challenges for both consumers and providers. Albany Behavioral Health is available to assist individuals, families and human services providers in navigating their way through the healthcare system and may even help to identify opportunities that otherwise may have missed. We’re also available to work with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) to help ensure that their members receive the best possible care.
Life & Peer Coaching
Most everyone arrives at a point in life when they could benefit from the help of a peer or life coach to break through personal or professional challenges they’re experiencing. Albany Behavioral Health has the experience and expertise to assist individuals in overcoming those challenges and achieving cognitive, emotional and/or physical well being.
DWI is a serious offense and in New York State the punishments (from steep fines to loss of driving privileges and even jail time). As such, no one arrested for DWI should attempt to face the court alone. Albany Behavioral Health can provide referrals to local attorney’s who specialize in DWI cases. We can also assist with navigating the court system and make recommendations for additional services that may help to reduce the likelihood of a repeat offense.
Medical Marijuana Referrals
Medical Marijuana has been proven to benefit patients suffering from a variety of critical and/or chronic illnesses. Albany Behavioral Health can provide referrals to a local, certified provider who can educate clients about New York State’s medical marijuana program and determine whether or not an individual qualifies for enrollment. If so, the provider can dispense a prescription and help the patient navigate the process of obtaining medical marijuana from a licensed dispensary.
While Albany Behavioral Health is committed to providing excellent professional care to those experiencing psychosocial problems, sometimes an individual’s needs are beyond the scope of our services. In such instances, we provide referrals to an appropriate provider in the community. Examples might include providers specializing in alcohol or drug treatment, yoga or massage therapy.

Albany Behavioral Health provides in-home assessment and intervention services during the difficult pre-treatment stages, when loved ones are having difficulty distinguishing between patterns of drug using behaviors and addictive behaviors.
The service is geared toward assessing the multiple risks that can be prevented if appropriate intervention techniques are applied. The initial objective of an intervention is to raise the individual’s awareness of the immediate problem. This service can be a gateway for your loved one to get the help they need.
